Questions workers ask

Everything about logging shifts, pay, tax and your data.

All questions

Does it work if my agency doesn't use TurTra?

Yes. Most workers on TurTra use it on their own. You log your shifts, TurTra calculates what you should be paid, and you compare it with your payslip.

How are tax and super calculated?

Tax is estimated from your income and visa type using ATO brackets; super uses the rate on your job. They're estimates to help you plan — not a replacement for your accountant or your payslip.

Is it really free?

Yes. Every feature, every role.

Who can see my data?

Only you, unless you choose to share your shifts with an agency or a host employer that uses TurTra. You can turn that off at any time.

I work for three employers. Do I need three accounts?

No. One account, as many employers and agencies as you like. Each shift is logged against the employer you worked for, and your weekly summary adds them all up.

I get paid per kilo or per bin. Does that work?

Yes. Choose piece rate when you set up the job, enter the unit (kg, bin, container…) and the rate. On each shift you log the quantity and TurTra does the maths.

What is the Sunday summary?

An email every Sunday with your week: hours, gross, tax estimate, super and net, by employer. You can turn it off in Settings.
